Kiev Gramophone Mini Sculpture opened on 20.10.2018 |
The installation of the mini sculpture is a part of tourist project "Search" created by travel guide Yulia Bevzenko. Author of Kiev Gramophone Mini Sculpture is sculptor Daria Vovk. If to press the button on the left of the mini sculpture - could hear a chorus of Kiev Anthem for 20 seconds. If to press the second time - could hear the chorus for 30 seconds and if to press the third time - 40 seconds of the chorus. This moment there are other main symbols of Kiev that are presented in mini-sculptures around Kiev city center - Chicken Kiev, Kiev Chestnut, Kiev Cake, Kiev Tram, Kiev First Car Benz Velo, Kiev Brick Plinfa, Kiev Elephant. Kiev Anthem History "How Do not Love You, My Kyiv!" is the song by composer Igor Shamo and poet Dmitry Lutsenko written in 1962. According to memoirs of Rostislav Babiychuk who was Minister of Culture of Ukrainian SSR in 1960s the idea of creating a song came down to the fact that entire Soviet Union was singing songs about Moscow but there was no song about Kiev. Thus on the eve of solemn government concert it was decided to prepare a new song about the capital of Ukrainian SSR. The catch phrase “How Do not Love You, My Kyiv!” appeared by chance when Dmitry Lutsenko singing a melody was walking around Kiev. His attention was attracted by young couple - the girl showed her temper and the guy exclaimed: “How Do not Love You!”. Dmitry Lutsenko had to add “My Kyiv” and the lyrics of the song acquired its final sound. The first performance of the song was decided to try to make a duet. For this popular young singers Yury Gulyaev and Konstantin Ognevoi were invited. However Yuri Gulyaev solo record became famous being the splash screen for the end of television programs of Kiev Television Studio. Since November 2014 the song "How Do not Love You, My Kyiv!" is official anthem of the city of Kyiv.
