On 06.10.2020 in Kyiv State Aviation Museum of Ukraine appeared Yak-40 USSR-87683 as a new exhibit which was built back in 1968 and is the oldest surviving representative of this type of more than 1000 aircrafts built.

For many years aircraft Yak-40 USSR-87683 was only 500 meters from Kyiv State Aviation Museum on the training ground of National Aviation University.

Yak-40 USSR-87683 has been used since the beginning of its operation in Kirovohrad School of Higher Flight Training (Kropivnitskiy Flight Academy) to retrain crews for the new Aeroflot regional aircraft.

Since 1971 Yak-40 USSR-87683 is in Kyiv to train cadets at the training ground of aerodrome vehicles of Kyiv Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers (National Aviation University).

The aircraft Yak-40 USSR-87683 was undocked for transportation and soon the museum specialists will put the plane together for further restoration and renewal of colors of Yak-40 livery in the first years of operation.

So soon visitors of Kyiv State Aviation Museum of Ukraine will be able to see the oldest Yak-40 in the main exposition.
