- Zaporizhzhya International Airport (OZH) - international airport which is a structural unit of the air transport system of Ukraine. In its possession is an artificial runway length of 2 500 meters equipped with modern lighting technology and radio navigation systems. - Natalivka Granite Quarry - has been developed compelety and flooded. Right now a popular holiday destination among residents of Zaporizhzhya. - Mokryansky Granite Quarrys №2 and №3 - develops of Mokryansky Deposit of granite. Mineral resource is unchanged and affected by weathering granite of Kirovograd-Zhitomir complex Archaea. Granites are gray and sometimes tinged with pink. The maximum design depth of development is 107 metres, at this stage of the development is 62 meters of depth. - Peredatochninsky Granite Quarry - in the early 90's was one of the largest granite quarries in Ukraine. Now the production has exhausted itself and in its place there is a beautiful lake formed from groundwater. At the bottom of the lake lie write-offs excavators and other scrap metal. - Flooded part of left bank of Dnieper river - areas of Dnieper River where the river channel is divided into branches that are separated by islands. It is a great possibility to look at Dnieper River as it was before the constraction from 1932 to 1975, the cascade of hydropower stations that were flooded large areas creating reservoirs. - Big Khortytsia Island - Big Khortytsya Island has an area of 2 386 hectares. It stretched for more than 12 km and a width of 2-3 km. The name of the island comes from the name of the sacred dogs (Khort) which protected the great pagan temple of the god Khors located on the island. - Preobrazhensky Bridges - two bridges over Dnieper River connecting across Khortytsya island right and left bank of Zaporizhzhya. Built in 1949-1952 years and named after the author of the project - bridge builder engineer Boris Preobrazhensky. - New Zaporizhzhya Bridges - are under construction, the project includes two bridges: cable-stayed bridge across Dnieper River by length of 660 meters and the bridge over Old Dnieper River by length of 340 meters with four lanes of traffic and seven transport interchanges. - Khortytsia Zaporozhian Sich - copy of Zaporozhian Sich enclosed by a moat, rampart and timbered palisade with several towers - Historical-Cultural Complex "Zaporozhian Sich". - Zaporizhzhya Dnieper Hydroelectric Station (Dnipro GES) - largest hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in the south of Ukraine, the fifth stage of the cascade of hydropower stations and is the oldest on Dnieper river. The length of Zaporizhzhya Dnieper Hydroelectric Station (Dnipro GES) is 760 meters and the height is 60 meters. - Small Khortytsia Island (Baida Island) - according to historical researchers Khortitska Sich was the first of a series of Zaporozhian Siches. Khortitska Sich was organized in 1552 at own expense of Dmitry Vyshnevetsky known in the cossack folk tales under the name of Baida. It was a fortress built on Dniper island called Small Khortytsya. - Kantserovskaya Beam - one of the largest beams of right bank of Dnieper River of Zaporozhye region. Sleeve length of the main beam is almost 10 kilometers long and her sleeves up to 3,2 kilometers. At the bottom of the beam there are a series of ponds and wetlands and a large picturesque lake from whichKantserovka river begins to flow. - Kaydatskaya Beam (Partisanskaya Beam) and part of old railroad in the form of "S" - sleeves of beam pass through the old railways built by the Germans-Mennonites in 1902. The beam has a rather complex topography - elevation here is almost 80 meters. On the bed of the beam flows Khortichanka River. - Shiroke Airfield - former USSR pilot training airfield where it is possible to look at Let L-29 (59 aircrafts), Antonov An-2 (13 aircrafts), Mil Mi-2 (9 helicopters), Mil Mi-8 (1 helicopter) and Antonov An-24 (1 aircraft). - Lenin Island - unique island upstream of Zaporizhzhya Dnieper Hydroelectric Station (Dnipro GES) in shape of heart as a symbol of Love in Zaporizhzhya. - Metallurgical Dumps of Balka Serednya - industrial landfill dumps of three largest metallurgical enterprise of Zaporizhzhya - "Zaporizhstal", "Dneprospezstal" and "Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant". |
