Idea of Military Museum of Second World War and Soviet Afghanistan War was proposed in May 2011 by Ukrainian Union of Afghanistan Veterans of Zvenyhorodka, Ukraine.

According to the original plan the museum includes the following exposition: weapons, uniforms, items of use of Soviet and German soldiers of Second World War and Soviet War in Afghanistan, training ground for trips on rented military vehicles, place for shooting, re-created Afghanistan village, military shop "Dukan" and military observation post.

Huge arrangements for the establishment of Military Museum of Second World War and Soviet Afghanistan War took brothers Ruslan and Oleg Boyko - soldiers-internationalists who served in Afghanistan in 1986.

Thanks to funding from their transport company "Shampantrans" appeared opportunity to buy land with an old house. Then there was a complete reconstruction of the house and preparing to host the museum.

At the same time in Zvenyhorodka region and throughout Ukraine had started collecting of primary exhibits for the museum. Some of the exhibits were transferred by people for free and some of them had to buy for a lot of money.

The unique exhibits of Second World War exposition include German suitcase with personal items of Wehrmacht soldier, portrait of Lenin-Hitler, original posters and flags, unifom of Luftwaffe pilot, motorcycle BMW 12, German forged boots and different weapons.

The unique exhibits of Soviet War in Afghanistan include clothing of Afghanistan residents, unifom of Soviet soldiers, weapons, collection of gas masks.

Simultaneously was done search and selection for purchase of military vehicles of Soviet period: Soviet Army missile truck BAZ-6944 "Osnova-1", armored reconnaissance-patrol car BRDM-2, armoured personnel carrier (APC) BTR- 60, military truck ZIL-131, military truck ZIL-157, military motorcycle K-750, conveyor leading edge - amphibious vehicle LuAZ-967, multipurpose armoured amphibious vehicle MT-LB, military truck UAZ-3303 and others. The plans of Military Museum of Second World War and Soviet Afghanistan War is to buy Tank T-64 which in the future will be the main object of rent and hire by visitors of the military museum.

Also in the near future will be restored Limousine Mercedes which may used by Reichskommissar of Reichskommissariat Ukraine Erich Koch.

Another good idea of brothers Ruslan and Oleg Boyko is the creation of a military base in which military tourists could take a few days to feel like in Soviet Army - go through basic training, learn how to manage military equipment, vehicles and shoot well from different types of weapons.
