In Uzhanskyi National Nature Park in Stuzhytsya village preserved two oldest oaks in Ukraine - Grandfather oak of 1200 years old and Champion oak of 1300 years old.

Champion oak is recognized as the oldest oak in Ukraine with age of 1300 years and impressive tree size - trunk circumference of 9.6 meters and height - 25 meters.

More famous is Grandfather oak has equally impressive dimensions - trunk circumference - 9.1 meters, in diameter - 3.0 meters, height - 30 meters, width of crown - 20 x 25 meters. Its estimated age - 1100-1200 years.

About Grandfather oak there are several local legends. According to one legend oak tree grown from an acorn which was brought here by huge boar.

On the other - in the past under the oak robbers met and divided stolen treasures. A third legend said that oak planted long ago by a man in memory of fellow villagers who died from the plague.
