Lviv Railway Station Restaurant will become a Food Court by 1708 LCC |
Restaurant "Dorozhniy" is the historical name of the legendary establishment and buffet that operated for many decades in the right wing of the Lviv Railway Station. 1708 LLC plans to open a food court by Christmas 2026 and to equip it with a common area for visitors. Several of the company's restaurant and fast food brands like 1708 Pizza di Napoli, Lviv Croissants and Puffy Pancakes are to be presented there. In addition, there are plans to attract book and souvenir sellers. The new food court will be on the 1st and 2nd floors at the area of 1096 square meters and be a part of the pedestrian area of around 125 square meters in front of the Lviv Railway Station. Two more Lviv companies competed to win the auction for the former restaurant premises rental - "Gazda Group" LLC and Holding Of Emotions "!FEST" LLC but 1708 LLC proposed the highest price of 2.1 million UAH (around 41 000 Euro) per month. It is interesting that such a strong Lviv companies in the field of public catering "Gazda Group" LLC and Holding Of Emotions "!FEST" LLC did not see cost - business proposal over 1,9 million UAH (around 37 000 Euro/month) and 1,7 million UAH (around 33 000 Euro/month) respectively. The new food court will be a bit complicated to compete with already popular budget Lviv Train Cafe ("Gazda Group" LLC), Sakvoyazh Fast Food, Kebabtsya Fast Food just 100 meters from Lviv Railway Station but may be 1708 LLC which is co-owner of Lviv Croissants brand will move their bakery from the line of budget cafes to the main building of the Lviv Railway Station. If suppose the Lviv Railway Station serves around 750 000 passengers per month under normal operating conditions and around 30% of them use the new food court service - each of the passengers need to pay at least 10 UAH (around 0,19 Euro) to cover the monthly rental cost. The main problem is how to lead the passengers to the new food court as in the Ukrainian passenger's mind any food facility in the main railways station buildings looks more expensive than the cafe and fast food nearby. Lets wish the team of the new food court at Lviv Railway Station good management solutions so it will be successful in business - as we saw on the example of the food court opened in 2025 in Bessarabka Market in Kyiv that some locations are not become a client traffic generators due to high costs, car parking problems and lack of client entry logistics.
