On 10.12.2025 in Kyiv was re-opened Bessarabka Market in a new gastronomic food court format next to the classic food market that has existed here for over a hundred years but with updated food lines.

During the Bessarabka Market renovation it was implemented a number of inclusive solutions: an inclusive WC on the first floor with a comfortable area for mothers and children, adaptive dishes and installed reversible doors at three entrances.

The estimated amount of investment in modernization of Kyiv Bessarabka Market is about 150 million UAH (approximately 3.5 million dollars).

About Kyiv Bessarabka Market

The Bessarabka Market was built according to the will of sugar manufacturer Lazar Brodsky who in 1904 bequeathed 500 thousand rubles for the construction of a covered market. The project of the Polish architect Henryk Gay in the Art Nouveau style with a basement for refrigeration units won the tender of the Kyiv Duma with an estimate of 489 thousand rubles. Construction began in 1909 under the leadership of engineer Mikhail Bobrusov and contractor Leizer Gugel and the market opened on July 3, 1912.
