Kyiv Whale Eco Sculpture will light up again on 19.02.2026 in Kyiv VDNG |
|
Kyiv Whale - the largest ecological media art sculpture in Ukraine, created in 2021 from recycled plastic, is getting a new life: now the Kyiv Whale will have an audiovisual performance with dynamic lighting accompanied by specially written music created with the sounds of Kyiv rivers. The author of the progressive art object is Valeriy Korshunov known for his social and cultural projects in Chernobyl. Among them are "Sounds of Chernobyl" - the largest digital sculpture in Ukraine “Chernobyl Glow” which was made in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone from the huge Soviet Over-the-Horizon Radar Duga (5N32) and a mural on the Chernobyl NPP building. Kyiv Whale was selected in the top 10 projects that draw attention to environmental problems through art, the global initiative PartArt4OW and on 19.02.2026 the project will be presented simultaneously in Kyiv, Ukraine and Barcelona, Spain. Clean water is the basic condition for the life of ecosystems: it protects biodiversity and ultimately determines our health and well-being. On the threshold of 2026 the state of Ukraine’s water resources is assessed as critically stressed. The location of the Kyiv Whale is at the Expocenter of Ukraine (VDNG) near pavilion 11. Welcome to look and listen to the Kyiv Whale swimming in the Kyiv Sky! Organizers of Kyiv Whale Eco Sculpture Kyiv Whale Eco Hubs, PartArt4OW |
