Uman Tourist Tax will be collected by new rules for Rosh Hashanah Pilgrims |
The funds of the Uman Tourist Tax will be transferred directly to the account of the KP "Komunalnyk" as the tax agent. After making the payment the pilgrim receives a receipt with a QR code which allows employees of the KP "Komunalnya Varta" to verify the fact of payment of the tax. For convenience the payment on site through self-service terminals is also provided. According to the decision of the Uman City Council foreign tourists and pilgrims must pay a mandatory tourist fee if they live in hotels, residential buildings, outbuildings, estates, apartments, cottages, rooms or any other facilities for temporary residence. Both hosts and pilgrims are liable for failure to pay the tourist tax. Violations by pilgrims are recorded by representatives of National Police and based on their protocols administrative commissions under executive committees impose a fine of 850 UAH per person. Hosts who accommodate pilgrims are threatened with a fine of 1700 UAH for violating the rules for charging / paying the tourist tax. For repeated violations the administrative penalty is 3400 UAH. The correctness of the calculation and payment of the tourist tax by tax agents is checked by the State Tax Service. Based on the protocols drawn up by them the court imposes the appropriate fines.
