This year in anticipation of the expected arrival of 45 000 of Breslov Chassidim to Zion Rabbi Nachman of Breslov negotiations were held between the Breslov Union in Uman and the Uman Municipality on the issue of the Uman tourist tax. As a result of these negotiations the Breslov Union is announcing that it has reached agreements with the Uman Municipality this year Uman tourist tax for upfront payers will be also processed by it. The agreement is also intended to ease the congestion at the entrances to the Jewish Area during the Rosh Hashanah period. In recent years the Uman Municipality has begun to enforce and implement the law strictly while collecting taxes from the many worshippers who visit the city on Rosh Hashanah. As part of the agreements the Uman Municipality undertook to allow orderly entry to the compound both from the direction of the Pushkina-Sadova intersection and from the Pushkina-Bilinsky intersection (the Uman Bus Station Area). In addition the Uman Municipality received a promise that every effort would be made to prevent long delays and waits at the checkpoints. The official Uman tourist tax in 2026 and the amount payable per day per person is 216.17 UAH (around 4.85 USD) for stays in hotels, hostels, campsites, motels, boarding houses, boarding houses and other hotel-type establishments and 432.35 UAH (around 9.7 USD) for stays in apartments, residential buildings, rooms, cottages and other similar facilities.
