New Salt Mine Tour with light-sound show open in April in Soledar |
It is here in Salt Mine №1 (former "Bryantsivska Mine") the history of State Company Artemsil began in 1881. During the underground walk tourists will learn the history of salt production, see a maze of underground corridors full of unforgettable stories, get acquainted with rare mining tools and equipment as well as with the methods of extraction and transportation of salt which were used earlier. The new salt mine tour will take place at a depth of 200 meters underground and will last about two hours. During the tour tourists will walk almost half a kilometer and see: - Museum of Salt Production with valuable exhibits The highlight of the tour route is Church-Museum. Built at the end of the last century it was originally a small chapel of Holy Ascension where salt miners prayed before and after the work shift. For almost 80 years Church-Museum was closed and later was restored and now be open to tourists. Excellent acoustic capabilities of salt mine galleries let tourists to enjoy the performance of recorded music and choral singing. The new tour is continuation of Artemsil tourist potential development which started with Salt Mine Museum Tour many years ago.
