On 26.05.2019 in Kiev for the first time since 1240 took place Golden Gate Changing of the Guard - the special military ceremony related to the time of Kievan Rus of XIX - XIII century.

The venue of the event is Golden Gate and time 11:00 - 14:00.

Participants of Student Theater "Borisfen" in specially made clothes from the time of Kievan Rus demonstrated to townspeople, tourists and guests of Kiev the ceremony of changing the guard.

The ceremony took place every 30 minutes and between the changing of the guard Instrumental Group "Kyivska Storozha" of Kiev University named after Boris Grinchenko performed music of ancient time and girls drove round dances.

After each ceremony everyone could make the pictures with guards and children wear a real knight helmet and take up the sword.

There are plans to conduct this ceremony on special holidays and over time on an ongoing basis.
