First cross-border bicycle paths Ukraine-Hungary will open in Transcarpathia on 26th of May 2013 in Vylok, Ukraine |
The event will coincide with the opening of the festival in Vynohradiv "Ugochanska Vine 2013". Soon a similar cross-border bycycle path will be opened in Berehove which connect Hungarian village of Beregsurany and Berehove. Bicycle paths are constructed in the framework of the European Union project "Integrated system of bicycle tourism routes along the Ukrainian-Hungarian border". Place of performance - Transcarpathian region (Ukraine) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg region (Hungary). Date of completion - May 31, 2013. Organizer and developeer of First Cross-Border Bicycle Path - Center of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Regional Development, the main partners - State Road Service in the Carpathian region, the regional museum of Josiah András (Hungary), the village council of Beregsurany (Hungary). The main goal of Cross-Border Bicycle Paths between Ukraine and Hungary - the further development of active cross-border tourism. The project is planned to build bike paths Beregsurany-Berehove (3856 m) and Vylok-Tiszabecs, Diakove-Nevetlenfolu-Halmeu (3150 m), the construction of the bicycle station in the village of Beregsurany (Hungary). The project will develop a strategic plan for accession to the Transcarpathian Network of European bicycle paths which also includes the development of tourist attractions, maps for cyclists, dedicated site, training of bycycle tour guides. All these measures should contribute to the development of tourism on the territory of Hungary and Transcarpathia (Ukraine). Organizers of Cross-Border Bicycle Paths in Ukraine
