The boat is a reconstruction of the battle ship of Kievan Rus of IX-XI centuries the similar to Scandinavian battle drakkar-ship. Boat-Drakkar Prince Vladimir - the only one in the world is unique, right on naval architecture and fully scientifically-based reconstruction of the ancient craft. When creating Boat-Drakkar Prince Vladimir used only natural materials: the ship is 90% of the pine wood also used oak and linden. All units of ship stitched by medieval technology. It is based on the original drawings were taken. Boat-Drakkar Prince Vladimir is "River-Sea" class and 12 meters long, 3,5 meters wide, 1,9 meters depth. The boat is equipped with sail and paddles up to 10 paddlers. Mast height - 12 meters. Sail area is 36 square meters. The total capacity of crew transportation - up to 20 people. The expedition will conduct a final check of Boat-Drakkar Prince Vladimir, testing the driving performance, durability and other characteristics during the passage of boat on the Dnieper river from Kiev to Tripillya settlement. It was a historic waterway that connected at times of Kievan Rus (IX-XII century) Kiev with the southern border outposts. Upon completion of the expedition reconstructed Boat-Drakkar Prince Vladimir will be installed on Kievan Rus Park Museum - Centre for Culture and History of Ancient Kievan Rus.
