On 20th of August 2015 at 16:00 in International Airport "Kyiv" (IEV) will take plave Petrykivka Painting Open Air dedicated to Independence Day of Ukraine.

In terminal "A" of International Airport "Kyiv" (IEV) will be opened an exhibition of Petrykivka paintings painted by famous master of Petrykivka - Galina Nazarenko.
 
A special highlight of Petrykivka Painting Open Air will be art project with idea to paint benches installed in front of terminal "A" of International Airport "Kyiv" (IEV). Artist Galina Nazarenko together with foreign ambassadors will paint four benches. Each of honorary ambassadors recreate on the benches Petrykivka flower, blade of grass or a motive for his request. This international work on benches in style of Petrykivka painting will adorn the territory of International Airport "Kyiv" (IEV) for many years.
 
At the opening of Petrykivka Painting Open Air will be screened a collection of clothes decorated with Petrykivka ornaments TM "VoleeY".

Galina Nazarenko will give a master class on Petrykivka painting for everyone to learn to paint "onion" and "viburnum".

About Petrykivka Painting

Petrykivka painting originated in Ukraine long before advent of Christianity and played the role of a talisman. People believed that beauty is the magic, spiritual power and therefore the windows and doors of the houses and even the clothes decorated with magic ornaments that protected the home. This ancient tradition of hundreds of years has been widely used in Ukrainian life particularly by Zaporizhzhya Cossacks and was popular in the settlements of southern regions of Azov Sea but is preserved only in old Cossack village Petrykivka that in Dnipropetrovsk region.
 
On 5th of December 2013 Petrykivka Painting was included in List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This is a great event for Ukraine because UNESCO only interested in achievements of humanity that arose in ancient times and passed from generation to generation.
