In Nebelivka Cucuteni-Trypillian Settlement was found tripolian temple age of 6000 years |
According to Ukrainian archaeologists Michael Videyko and Natalia Burdo the temple belongs to Tripoli culture which in IV millennium BC cover most of territory of Ukraine and Romania. The area of the temple was 60 x 20 meters. It was a two-storey building made of wood and clay with a courtyard and porticoes on the perimeter. Inside the building was found eight clay plates - one of which was a lot of charred bones of lambs which are likely to be sacrificed. The floor and walls of all five rooms of the first floor were painted red. On the territory of the sacred complex were discovered gold jewelry. Gold ornaments are small - less than an inch. The temple in Nebelivka Cucuteni-Trypillian Settlement is similar to religious buildings of Middle East in the same period. Sumerian temple of Eridu which is about 6 000 years old was also divided into separate rooms. Probably it was ancient temple which at the same time could be more than a thousand people. Nebelivka Cucuteni-Trypillian Settlement Nebelivka Cucuteni-Trypillian Settlement - one of the largest settlements of people in ancient Europe in mid IV millennium BC with area of about 300 hectares. Over 120 years of archaeological excavations and research Tripoli culture scientists first discovered the construction of public facilities of significant size.
