From 6th of April till 6th of May 2013 in Lviv will take place "Pysanka (Easter Egg) Festival 2013" at historical center of Lviv on the streets of the city!

The main idea of "Pysanka (Easter Egg) Festival 2013" is to promote the Easter traditions by decorating Lviv with inherent character of Easter - Easter Eggs (Pysanka). During this period historical center of Lviv turn into "Museum of Easter Eggs" in the open air.

Before "Pysanka (Easter Egg) Festival 2013" anyone can join to the celebration by creating their own eggs and putting them for public view.

During "Pysanka (Easter Egg) Festival 2013" in Lviv for the participants will be produced Easter eggs from chocolate, balloons, wood, flowers and many other interesting and unexpected materials with classic symbols of Easter.

So together all the participants of the festival will create a new original "Easter Egg Tourist Route" for whole period of festival celebration.

Also during the festival will be held master classes in painting of Pysanka (Easter egg). For making Pysanky (Easter Egg) will be used plastic eggs so participants of master class could in easy way to try the painting of Eastern Eggs. After the master class all Pysanky (Easter Eggs) will be hang on the trees of Lviv and stay there for all period of festival celebration.

Easter egg as a symbol of Christ's Resurrection is one of the ancient forms of Ukrainian folk painting in which our ancestors embodied their aspirations and faith. Exclusive Easter eggs can be an ornament of the city and create a unique atmosphere of "Pysanka (Easter Egg) Festival 2013". Pysanky (Easter Eggs) are all different - they do not resemble each other, are special and each of them has its own importance.

Today Pysanka (Easter egg) acquires former solution reviving forgotten techniques, new masters. Pysanka (Easter egg) - is one of the most ancient symbols of Ukraine - a small miracle that anyone can do it yourself!
