On 26th of May 2013 at 10:00 on Khreshchatyk Street at Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine will start annual sports and charity race Kiev Chestnut Run 2013 which opens the celebration of the Day of Kyiv (Kiev).

Registration Time: 09:00 - 09:45. Distance of Run: around 5 km. All collected as part of the project funds are sent to Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Center for Infants for the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies.

Kiev Chestnut Run 2013 is one of the biggest charity events in Ukraine, sporting event that is included in the program of the State Committee of Ukraine, festival event for the whole family, the possibility of manifestation of corporate social responsibility.

Goals of Kiev Chestnut Run 2013

• draw public attention to the problems of infant mortality in Ukraine
• promote the positive attitude of the population towards a healthy lifestyle
• develop in people a tradition of mutual aid
• encourage corporate companies to the manifestation of social activity
• collect the maximum amount of funds for the Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery for Infants

Kiev Chestnut Run facts

• Kiev Chestnut Run for the first time was in 1993 gathering 150 participants at the start
• in 2010 in Kiev Chestnut Run was attended by a record number of people - 15 100.
• the run each year attended by more than 60 corporate teams which includes the number of participants from 15 to 12 000 employees
• the age of the youngest registered participant - 1,5 months and the oldest - 98 years old
• the money raised during Kiev Chestnut Run 2010 the Center of Pediatric Cardiology were purchased in equipment "Artificial Heart"
• during the support of the Center of Pediatric Cardiology Kiev Chestnut Run gathered and passed health care institution checks totaling more than 1 500 000 UAH (around 185 000 USD)
