About Interpipe Steel Plant

In Interpipe Steel Plant was invested more than 700 million US dollars. This landmark project for Ukrainian society combines the latest technology and five large-scale art installations by Olafur Eliasson have become an integral part of the new plant.

Art objects which surprised and bring positive amotions during the tour of Interpipe Steel Plant:

"Your Time Tunnel" - a grandiose installation allows two trucks to pass throught it at the same time. It is a series of arches of which built the impressive main gates of Interpipe Steel Plant.

"Material is a Movement" - installation in the main production workshop of the plant consists of several circular disk and an elliptical shape made of yellow reflective glass.

"Your Bridge of Thinking" - a 22-meter high installation located in the outboard transition between buildings of Interpipe Steel Plant. The walls and ceiling are lined with closed transition mirrors and metal. The two hemispheres are attached to mirror surface at intersection of walls and ceilings in such a way that together its display perceived as a full sphere.

"Your Pattern of Fire" - a group of large-scale images on the facade of the plant looks like a thermal analysis of building interior. It seems that the viewer has an opportunity to look inside of the plant and see invisible heat generated during production of steel.

"Dnipro Sunrise" - an artificial sun raised to a height of 60 meters made of two intersecting ellipses of yellow corrugated metal. Sun of Olafur Eliasson shine in the hours of dawn and dusk.
