On 14th - 15th of January 2014 in Vashkivtsi and Chernivtsi, Ukraine will take place unique folk music and costume carnival Malanka Festival 2014.

All inhabitants of Vashkivtsi village dress up in traditional costumes of Malanka - "grandfather", "grandmother", "gypsy", "bukshandor", "winged bear", "goat", "soldier" as well as costumes of politics, stars of show business and others unusual characters.

Malanka Festival 2014 procession will start on 14th of January 2014 from center of Vashkivtsi and be completed with traditional bathing in Prut river.

Next day on 15th of January 2014 Malanka Festival 2014 will move to center of Chernivtsi. Here will take place fantastic Malanka Festival 2014 Pageant on the streets of Chernivtsi. There will be competitions for the title of Best Malanka Costume and Best Dance Music Groups. In Malanka Festival 2014 will take part inhabitants and music groups of towns and villages of Chernivtsi region, neighboring regions, Romania and Moldova. As a final chord of Malanka Festival 2014 will be great music concert in the evening.
