According to the inscriptionIn over the southern door of babynets current Wooden Church of St. Basil was built in 1733. Interestingly that villagers of Cherche from one generation to another called this church as Church of St. Paraskeva. According to visitation act of 1760 Wooden Church of St. Basil was blessed by dean Stefan Demkovich. In the early XX century a storm flunked the central dome of the church which was covered with a temporary pyramidal tent. Restoration of the central dome of nave made in 1970. Wooden Church of St. Basil in Cherche hidden from view and to find it place it is needed several times passing through the streets back and forth and asking locals about its whereabouts. The very same is near the road. Near the church a small structure made of metal which hangs solitary bell. The bells sounded very high and melodious. Among all the churches that have seen Wooden Church of St. Basil has a special energy. It is difficult to describe in words - you just need to stand next to the little miracle of wooden architecture created by our ancestors.
