From 7th till 27th of July 2013 in Black Sea will take place Sailing Regatta Magellan 500 2013. The sailing regatta will be along the route Odessa (Ukraine) - Sinop (Turkey) - Batumi (Georgia) - Odessa (Ukraine) and is a preparatory stage for the round the world regatta.

This year Sailing Regatta Magellan 500 2013 will be dedicated to the memory of the patriarch of yachting Odessa - Mikhail Petukhov which account for the preparation of more than 100 Masters of Sailing Sport of the former Soviet Union.

- July 4, 2013- The arrival of yachts to yacht club "Odessa"
- July 5-6, 2013 - Registration
- July 6, 2013 - The captains meeting, beginning paperwork
- July 7, 2013 - the start of stage Odessa (Ukraine) - Sinop (Turkey)
- July 11, 2013 - sightseeing in Sinop (with a guide)
- July 12, 2013 - excursion to the valley of waterfalls near Sinop. In the evening - themed dinner with government Wilaya Sinop
- July 13, 2013 - the start of stage Sinop (Ukraine) - Batumi (Georgia)
- July 17-18, 2013 - tour program which includes a trip to the ancient fortress of Gonio. The night before the start - a theme dinner
- July 18-19, 2013 - the start of stage Batumi (Georgia) - Odessa (Ukraine)

After the finish of yacht club "Odessa" provides free yacht marina stay for two days.

Date of the closing ceremony is determined by the Organizing Committee after the finish of the last stage.

The main objective of Sailing Regatta Magellan 500 2013 - conducting round-the-world sailing regattas in the years 2019-2021 dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the voyage of Magellan. In preparation for the round the world regatta in Black Sea are the competitions which are based on sailing race long distance between the ports of the Black Sea countries.

Sailing Regatta Magellan 500 2013 is designed for racing and cruising yachts which are capable of long time to be on the high seas. Organizers plan to expand the geography of "Magellan 500" turning it into a traditional and prestigious international competition that takes participants from around the world.

Participation in the regatta is free of charge. Guided tours and a program conducted by the Organizing Committee.
