On 15.07.2026 in Kyiv was announced the project of the Kyiv Tourism Lab with the School of Public Tour Guide - a new educational and practical tool for the development of modern tourism in the Ukrainian capital.

In 2026 the project will start with the School of Public Tour Guide - the first educational direction of Kyiv Tourism Lab, designed to train a new generation of specialists who, through history, culture and urban space will contribute to the development of inclusive tourism, barrier-free travel, social integration and mental recovery of various categories of the people.

The concept of Kyiv Tourism Lab, the training program of the School of Public Tour Guide, the conditions of participation, the competition of original projects, as well as professional development opportunities that program participants and graduates will receive were presented.

A feature of the program will be a competition of original projects in three topics:

- Mental Recovery & Space
Project goal: transforming the urban environment into a tool for restoring human mental health through conscious interaction with nature, namely: creating specially designed barrier-free spaces that help reduce stress levels, overcome anxiety, arranging barrier-free spaces in hotels or catering establishments

- Inclusive Tours
Project goal: developing original tours adapted to the needs of all segments of the population, which involves creating an inclusive environment where every visitor, regardless of age, health status or physical limitations, can comfortably perceive information about the city's tourist locations, taking into account physical accessibility, adaptation of communication and the introduction of multi-sensory technologies

- Unity Events
The project's goal: to hold artistic and cultural events, create a space for communication and the formation of communities united by common hobbies, conduct master classes and create a place for high-quality and meaningful leisure

Graduates of the School of Public Tour Guide will receive international certificates and the authors of the best initiatives will have the opportunity to implement their projects together with partners, undergo internships, receive mentoring and promotional support.

Practicing guides, students of the specialties "Tourism" and "Tourism and Recreation", representatives of public organizations, volunteers, local activists and everyone who seeks to join the development of modern, inclusive and barrier-free tourism in the capital are invited to participate in the School of Public Tour Guide.

Kyiv Tourism Lab is a platform that will combine education, practice, innovation and barrier-free. The School of Public Tour Guide will be the first step towards the formation of a new culture of urban tourism, where the person and his experience are at the center.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Ukrainian Federation of Employers in Tourism
