The Mosaic Bird in Helmiaziv became the Landmark of National Importance |
|
"Bird" is a mosaic panel created by Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretsky. The mosaic is part of the Ukrainian monumental heritage of the second half of the XXth century and the creative output of key representatives of the Ukrainian sixties. This strengthens the legal protection of the art work and creates appropriate conditions for its preservation. Together with the Mosaic Boryviter panel in Kyiv, the Bird mosaic in Helmiazev remains the only mosaic by Alla Horska in the territory controlled by Ukraine and the last one created by artist Alla Horska herself. The history of the creation of the Mosaic Bird is connected with the fact that orders for it were not offered but the artists had a desire to create monumental works. They took it upon themselves to design a dining room in the village of Helmiaziv which did not require approval from the art councils of the USSR party bodies. They paid little and the work was for food. The dining room was called "Supiy" after the name of the river that flows on the outskirts of the village. The Supiy River is a left tributary of the Dnieper. Welcome to look at The Mosaic Bird in Cherkasy region! Organizers Ministry of Culture Ukraine |
