After 05.02.2026 in Ukrainian cinemas will be shown VIRSKY: The Dance of Freedom Documentary Movie - the history of the remarkable journey of the Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble and Pavlo Virsky himself.

It is the story of a man who made Ukrainian dance an explosion of emotions and drive. Pavlo Virsky is a choreographer who turned the stage into a battlefield for beauty and freedom and every movement into a small theater.

The legendary Virsky Ensemble conquered stages from Paris to Tokyo, tore off ovations in the most prestigious halls of the world and forced the audience to applaud standing. Virtuoso performances from dizzying hopaks to complex multi-figure compositions became a new skill that no one has surpassed to this day.

Archive footage, memories of friends and students, incredible performances and secrets behind the scenes reveal how his dance survived censorship and time to inspire and amaze even today.
