Symbolically Black Cloud over Ukraine is Gone on Burning Man 2025 |
Black Cloud is an Ukrainian work by the author of the project Liosha Say and producer Vitaliy Deynega which visualized the threat of World War III at Burning Man 2025. The story of Black Cloud began with its creation in Zaporizhzhia and display on Sofia Square in Kyiv in June 2025 and then - transportation to the desert and installation which lasted all night: placement, attaching slings to meter-long anchors screwed into the ground, bringing in ballast, electricity and strobes, minor repairs and inflation. The first reviews about Black Cloud were more than inspiring - people came from all corners of the desert to look at one of the largest and strangest objects that grew in one night. This is a success no less than the last year's work - I'm Fine. But then a storm came... At 17:30 the wind appeared much stronger and more sudden than usual. Part of the team literally flew in the air trying to save the newly built camp. But the storm carried it as it pleased. Despite the fact that on paper and according to calculations Black Cloud should have withstood even such a storm it turned out differently. It held the wind for the first 15 minutes and then it tore in the middle, the storm flew into it and destroyed it completely. It is gone... Vitaliy Deynega clarifies that the last time he had such a feeling was exactly three and a half years ago when he woke up from the first explosions and sirens and realized that external circumstances of irresistible force decided to make adjustments to everyone's life. 3.5 years passed and a gust of wind tore the Black Cloud over Ukraine - creating the Butterfly Effect which changes the course of world events with a flap of the wings!
