On 18.12.2025 in Lviv is adopted Lviv Tourism Development Program 2026-2028 which will be financed by 10% (around 3.382 million UAH or 67 000 Euros) of the local tourist tax for Lviv tourism promotion and development.

The implementation of the Lviv Tourism Development Program for 2026-2028 is a tool for strengthening a competitive tourism industry as a generator of economic growth and stimulation, recovery and development of the economy, employment and tourist flows increase.

According to the Main Department of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region the volume of Lviv tourist tax revenues has been steadily growing in recent years:

2022 - 19.7 million UAH
2023 - 25.47 million UAH
2024 - 26.19 million UAH
2025 - 33.82 million UAH

According to the decision of the Lviv City Council 10% of the tourist tax revenues credited to the Lviv budget are directed to the activities of the Tourism Department of the Economic Development Department and the Lviv Tourism Development Center for the development of tourism and information infrastructure, marketing and branding of the destination, analytical and research activities, support for tourism products, events and partnership programs as well as improving the quality of service and accessibility of the tourist environment.

Let's remind you that the Kyiv State Administration on 26.11.2025 also considered the plan to increase the tourist tax level and set 10% of the tourist tax revenues for Kyiv tourism promotion and development. Currently there is no update on the final decision. In 2025 Kyiv tourist tax till the end of the year could reach around 70 million UAH and 10% of this amount is 7 mln UAH or 140 000 Euro.
