Lviv Organ Hall Tower Climb Tour will be opened for Tourists on 14.09.2025 |
For the first time in the history of Lviv Organ Hall tourists could start climbing at 15:00, 15:30, 16:00, 16:30 and 17:00 PM. Tourists groups will be formed of 10 people and the registration will open on 8.09 - 09.09.2025 on the official pages of European Heritage Days on social networks. Later there is a promise to continue visits in a test format and on a permanent basis. The building of the modern Lviv Organ Hall was built between 1600 and 1612 on the site of an old wooden church. Approximately in the XIXth century the towers were added and they performed various functions - defensive and a bell tower. In the 1960s the building was adapted for the organ hall of the Lviv Conservatory named after Mykola Lysenko. No one has ever climbed this tower except the technical staff but it offers a wonderful view of Lviv. This tower is also interesting because music is constantly heard in the organ hall - rehearsals, concerts, the organ, Choir "Homin", Luhansk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra plays - and people going upstairs can also hear what is being heard in the hall. In order to prepare the tower for tourists the repairs were carried out in the interior. It was a difficult task because it is a very old tower and there were a lot of wooden floors, beams in bad condition and it was quite dangerous there. But now fully restored the stairs, shutters and repaired the walls inside so it is safe, clean and beautiful!
