Kyiv Mini Sculpture The Power of The Word opened by Project Shukai |
|
It is the 51th mini sculpture of the project of Kyiv tour guide Yulia Bevzenko. The location of the new mini sculpture is Mezhyhirska St, 21 on the facade of the building of Publishing House "Smoloskyp". The main idea of the mini sculpture is to write because each word has power. Pencils, real and symbolic, must be "sharpened" - because that is how meanings are formed. Publishing House "Smoloskyp" (translated as ''torch") is a symbolic place for Ukrainian culture. This publishing house was founded in 1967 in emigration to the USA by Ukrainian activist Osyp Zinkevich. Since then "Smoloskyp" having become a voice of the struggle for freedom of speech and independence of thought, preserves and popularizes the works of Ukrainian authors, forms the cultural and civic identity of Ukrainians in the XXth-XXIst centuries. "Smoloskyp" house gathers the most distinguished young writers within its walls. Here, the laureates of the oldest youth literary competition in independent Ukraine are awarded, literary debuts take place and the voices of already recognized authors are heard. This is literally the most creative location in Podi and with the advent of "Litosvita", the concentration of talents here has only increased. The patron of the mini sculpture is Maria Prydma and her school of creative and professional writing "Litosvita". Welcome to search for the mini sculpture "The Power of The Word" in Kyiv!
