Antonov AN-70 02-BLUE successfully flew from Kyiv to Deblin, Poland |
Based on Flightradar24 data the flight number was 1002 with live tracking from Ukraine - Poland border. It is great news for aviation enthusiasts and airplane spotters who search for a moment to take great pictures of the unique Antonov AN-70 aircraft in the Polish sky! The uniqueness of the aircraft lies in the fact that with a maximum take-off weight of 130 000 kg and a load capacity of 20 tons it requires a dirt runway of only 800 meters for take-off and 600 meters for landing. At the same time if the aircraft takes off and arrives from conventional airfields with dirt or asphalt runways its useful load capacity increases to 47 tons and for take-off a runway of 1800 meters is required and for landing - 1550 meters. The aircraft is equipped with 4 propeller fan D-27 of 14 000 hp each with SV-27 propellers which rotate counter to each other. It is also important to understand that this is the only serial aircraft of this type since three copies were produced - the first prototype AN-70 crashed in 1995 in a collision with AN-72, the second - with the registration UR-NTK crashed in 2001 and was restored, in 2013 the registration was changed to UR-EXA - this is Antonov AN-70 02-BLUE which was adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2015. The third copy was produced for static and dynamic tests. Two more aircraft with the factory number 0104 (serial number 01-04) and the factory number 0105 (serial number 01-05) are in the process of being built. For more detailed information about the Antonov AN-70 you could look at Antonov Serial Production Plant. It is a new birthday of Antonov AN-70 in the sky for the purpose the airplane was created by aircraft constructor Oleg Antonov and very hardly completed by his successor Petro Balabuyev. Today they were both happy on this day as well as the entire team of the Antonov! Organizers Antonov |
