On 02.01.2022 in Hail, Saudi Arabia will start Dakar Rally 2022 with Ukraine Team leading by Sergii Malyk who drive Renault Kerax D-50 in Saudi deserts during almost two weeks of race.

Ukrainian team will be represented by pilot Sergii Malyk, navigator Lyubomir Shumakov and mechanic Sergei Matvienko.

Truck Renault Kerax D-50 (1998) with 10.8 turbo-diesel engine will be specially prepared for such a world class race.

Ukrainian team will compete in Dakar Classic which includes trucks and cars manufactured before 2000 by the shortened route.

Dakar Rally 2022 route: Hail - Al Qaisumah - Riyadh - Haradh - Shaybah - Ardah - Riyadh - Al Duwadimi - Wadi ad-Dawasir - Bisha - Jedah.

The finish of Dakar Rally 2022 is planned in Jedah on 14.01.2022.

Sergii Malyk was preparing to participate in Dakar Rally back in 2008 by all-wheel drive 330-horsepower KrAZ Truck. The truck and crew had already arrived at the start but at the last moment the race was canceled.

Ukrainian team will not be the first time in such a grand world competition - from 2008 to 2013 Team Sixt Ukraine by lead of Vadim Nesterchuk participated in Dakar Rally.
