Odesa Gramophone Mini Sculpture open on 16.10.2020 in Odesa City Garden |
The event will take place in Odesa City Garden at 12:00 opposite Monument to Leonid Utesov. Odesa Gramophone Mini Sculpture opening will feature a promenade of literary heroes of Odesa and musical accompaniment of Dixieland. The composition is a bronze antique gramophone four sides of which are the facades of Odesa houses with many cozy details of Odesa buildings and courtyards. Odesa sculptor Viktor Tiblevych used facades of real houses of Odesa as samples. The sculpture is dedicated to the great and famous inhabitants of Odessa whose voices and music represent Odesa - singers and musicians, composers and conductors, actors and comedians. These are Leonid Utesov, Oscar Feltsman, Emil Gilels, Stanislav Richter, Mykola Ogrenych, Valery Obodzinsky, Mykhailo Zhvanetsky, Roman Kartsev. Another feature of the mini sculpture will be the sound of the sea, the lighthouse, the cooing of pigeons under the roof, the melody of the clock at Dumska Square and the ringing of an old tram. On the pedestal of Odesa Gramophone Mini Sculpture there is QR-code which will be read by smartphones and by which tourists will get to a specially created website "Voice of Odessa" and hear a sound tracks consisting of fragments of songs, compositions and reprises performed by Odesa talents. Later on the website will be not only the sound part of the project but also pictures, videos, history of musical culture of Odesa and its prominent representatives. The goal of the project "Voice of Odesa" is to promote Odessa far beyond its borders so those who were not in Odesa would plan to visit the south capital of Ukraine. Welcome to Odesa!
