On 12th - 13th of January 2019 in Kharkiv will take place Kharkiv Vertep Fest which take part more than 500 participants from all around Ukraine.

In the traditional vertep in addition to heroes of Bethlehem legend and folk mythical characters ("Goat", "Death", "Devil", "Angels") also act "Soldiers", "Barkeepers", "Wandering Cantors". And in recent years "Berkut", "Bribe-taker" and well-known characters - "Chirt" with "Bimba". They are opposed by brave "Students", "Military" and "Volunteers".

12.01.2019, Saturday

13:30 - 14:30 - Parade of Verteps on the main streets of Kharkiv
14:30 - 14:45 - holding of All-Ukrainian Action "New Joy"
14:45 - 15:00 - solemn opening of Kharkiv Vertep Fest on Freedom Square
15:00 - 21:00 - interactive performances by vertep teams at locations:
- Freedom Square
- Kharkiv State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre
- Monument to Taras Shevchenko
- Parks of Kharkiv
- Supermarkets and shopping malls

During the day - theatrical performances in the theaters that will join the festival.

13.01.2018, Sunday

12:00 - 14:30 - for participants of the festival Kharkiv walking tours and excursions with performances - impromptus
15:00 - 18:00 - "Ethno Evening Party" - general meeting of participants of the festival and exchange of knowledge, practice, masterpieces of traditional winter and Christmas holidays by representatives of all regions of Ukraine and various ethnic communities of Kharkiv

Organizers expect that audience of the festival will be more than 10 000 vistors and guests due to the large number of festival venues and events in the program.
