Gazon Party Festival program includes: - performances by music bands: TheVio, Sixth Sense, Michelle band Gazon Party Festival Historical Reconstruction Program 30.06.2018, Saturday 17:00 - 22:00 - Cossacks camps under walls of Zhovkva Castle 01.07.2018, Sunday 14:00 - 15:00 - reconstruction of historical events "Assaulting of Zhovkva, negotiations, issuance of ransom to Bohdan Khmelnytsky Cossacks" Zhovkva Castle Historical Facts Zhovkva Castle was built on the order of Stanislaw Zolkiewski in 1594 - 1606 as a defensive building in renaissance style. In 1648 the castle and fortifications of Zhovkva experienced siege by allied Cossack-Tatar army led by Bohdan Khmelnytsky. The assault was not so long - taking a large ransom the army moved to Zamosc. Later on September 26, 1655 Cossack troops after fast assault occupied and robbed the city. At the end of XVII century Zhovkva Castle was the favorite residence of Polish king John III Sobieski who bring the casle to the greatest prosperity. During Northern War in December 1706 - April 1707 in Zhovkva Castle placed his residence Peter the Great. It is believed that his plan of victory over Swedes was developed Zhovkva Castle. Also Ukrainian Hetman Ivan Mazepa visited the castle. Modern days Zhovkva Castle after complete restoration opens its doors for tourists from all around the world. Organizers of Gazon Party Festival
