On 15th of November 2019 Kyiv City Council approved Kyiv Tourism Development Program 2019-2021 with total amount for its implementation of 6 915 256 Euro.

For the tourism development program allocate funds of 219 057 000 UAH (6 915 256 Euro) including 199 557 000 UAH (6 299 675 Euro) from Kyiv city budget and 19 500 000 UAH (615 488 Euro) from other sources: sponsors, funds, private funds of enterprises and banks.

Purpose of the program is to turn tourism into one of the most profitable sectors of the economy of Kyiv.

Kyiv Tourism Development Program 2019-2021 concentrates on promotion and development of tourist infrastructure, improvement of the image of Kyiv, growth of tourist flows and average length of stay of tourists in Kyiv and inflow of investment in tourism industry.

Kyiv is currently positioned as a city for weekend and Tourism Department of Kyiv City Council plan to find a way to extend tourists stay in Ukrainian capital.

The main strategy of the tourism development program for three years is to turn Kyiv into a tourist center, the city for obligatory visits to travelers from Europe as well as tourists from Asia who travel to Europe via Ukraine.
