On 22th of March 2018 Kiev-Zhuliany airport got a new name - Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport in honor of the aircraft designer and creator of the world's first serial helicopter Sikorsky R-4 Hoverfly.

The initiative on assigning the name of the famous aircraft designer belongs to collective of Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany).

- studied in Kiev Polytechnic Institute of Emperor Alexander II
- in the summer of 1908 Igor Sikorsky began to design and construct his first helicopter in KPI Aviation Hangar
