On 12th of October 2017 in Demidiv Zoo 12 Months near Kiev was born Giraffe Baby Vitalik from giraffes Nikolai Stepanovich and Mari Zhirafenko.

Giraffe Nikolai Stepanovich came to Zoo 12 Months in 2015 and three months later his lady Mari Zhirafenko was brought to him.

Pregnancy for a giraffe lasts fifteen months and the head of ungulate department Sergey Burch argued that Mari is pregnant - no one believed him.

Then came the day when Giraffe Baby Vitalik was born - for friends his name is Vito. The name of the baby was given to continue the line of Slavic names of giraffe family of Zoo 12 Months.

At birth Giraffe Baby Vitalik slapped on the hay from a height of one and a half meters. Such a flight does not injure the giraffe but rather pushes it to the first independent breath and soon made the first steps.

This is a delightful giraffe child - huge eyes, proportional body and how fast it grows!

Everyone could visit Giraffe Baby Vitalik at Zoo 12 Months. During autumn and winter giraffes are in a closed pavilion where tourists could look and feed them with twigs with dry leaves which they love very much.
