On 16th of March 2017 Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved Strategy of Tourism and Resorts 2017-2026 prepared by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

The strategy defines state tourism policy in following areas:

- Safety of tourists
- Regulatory framework
- Development of tourism infrastructure
- Human resources development
- Marketing policy of tourism and resorts

Strategy of Tourism and Resorts 2017-2026 envisages that by 2026 in Ukraine:

- Number of foreign tourists increased by 2.5 times
- Number of domestic tourists increased by 5 times
- Number of jobs in tourism sector will increase by 5 times
- Budgets at all levels of tourism will increase by 10 times
- Number of Ukraine tour operators and tour agencies grow by 5 times
- Tourists spend while traveling in Ukraine more than 80 billion UAH (around 2,9 billion US dollars)
- Create a positive image of Ukraine as a country that is attractive for tourism

According to World Tourism Organization contribution of tourism to global GDP is 10% and total number of jobs directly or indirectly related to the tourism is 11% so deliberate state policy in the sphere of tourism is an important part of sustainable economic development of Ukraine in the world.
