In Museum of Modern Art opened 5th Odessa Biennale of Contemporary Art. Within the framework of the art forum 50 works by authors from different countries will be shown on the sites of Odessa museums.

30.08.2017, Wednesday

12:00 - In Museum of Holy Archangel Michael Monastery will take place Project "Constantinople - Istanbul - Odessa: Connection of Times and Generations". Cultural action consisting of a concert program and an exhibition of works by Odessa photographers will tell about centuries-old spiritual ties of Kievan Rus and Byzantium, Ukraine and Turkey, Odessa and Istanbul.

18:00 - 21:00 - Traditional festival "Red City" this year is dedicated to 70th anniversary of the birth of George Golubenko. In the program of the festival: take-off of balloon over Odessa, Parade of Reds, concert in Odessa City Garden, contests with prizes and gifts, performance of red clowns of Theater "Masky Show".

16:00 - Opening of photo exhibition for 110th anniversary of birth of a prominent Greek poet and artist, twice winner of First State Prize of Greece in the field of poetry - Nikos Engonopoulos in Branch of Greek Fund for Culture.

19:00 - Odessa City Garden will host a concert of Ukrainian composer pianist virtuoso and Hollywood prize-winning improvisator Eugene Khmara accompanied by Chamber Orchestra of Odessa Philharmonic.

01.09 - 20.09.2017

15:00 - More than 400 unique photographs depicting Odessa during the late XVIII - mid-XXI centuries will be presented at Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art in the framework of Project "Odessa in Old Photos".

19:00 - In Odessa City Garden will take place Concert "In Odessa All Yours" with performance of music band "Jam Band" and collectives of national minorities - youth folklore ensemble "Zoretsvit", dance group "Ludo-Mlado", folk group "FA-diez", dance group "Bolgarsky Serza" and others.

01.09 - 03.09.2017

21:00 - II Festival of Light, Architectural, Projection Technologies and Installations "Odessa Light Fest" will be held with participation of variety symphony orchestra. Within three days Odessa citizens, visitors and tourists will be able to observe light interactive show during which central buildings and historical sights of Odessa will turn into unique artistic and light objects.

02.09.2017, Saturday

10:00 - Grand Opening Ceremony of Day of Odessa 2017. On this day, flowers will be laid at the foot of monuments to founders of Odessa.

10:00 - 14:00 - Traditionally Primorsky Boulevard will host a festival of arts and crafts, master classes of the winners of Odessa festival competition "Star Youth of Odessa".

10:00 - 11:00 - Project "Odessa German Tram" will be held dedicated to anniversary of construction of a tram electric line by residents of German colony which connected Lustdorf village with Odessa. On Starosennaya Square guests will be treated with national cuisine, perform music concert of creative collectives of German societies from different regions of Ukraine, be held master classes and exhibitions of arts and crafts.

11:00 - In Park of Taras Shevchenko will realize Project "USAID Town". This is an information fair where USAID representatives talk about their activities in a certain city and surrounding territorial communities. Guests will be able to get professional advice on energy efficiency, learn about the sources of clean energy and its application, develop projects to improve urban infrastructure, opportunities for participation in lawmaking process, decentralization reform in Ukraine. Various games will be organized for children for designing of operating mechanisms with help of clean energy sources, fun workshops for creating paper mills, drawing competition "My Beautiful City" and other events.

12:00 - Opening of new names on Odessa Stars Alley: Ilya Ilf, Evgenyi Petrov, Valentin Kataev, Kyriak Kostandi, Valery Obodzinsky and Konstantin Paustovsky.

13:00 - 17:00 - Musical and Entertainment Tram Tour "Tram of Happiness" will take place. Residents, tourists and guests of Odessa will be able to ride for free in the tram by Route 4: Resort and Beach Complex "Arcadia" - Tiraspolska square.

16:00 - The new exposition will be presented in Museum-Apartment of Leonid Utesov and start performance of Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra of Amphilochia (Greece) in Odessa City Garden.

17:30 - All-city karaoke contest for the best performance of the song about Odessa in Odessa City Garden.

18:00 - In Greek Park take place the opening of the stele of sculptor Mikhail Reva.

18:00 - 22:00 - Rock Festival "Pikeyni Zhilety" on Concert Stage "Lights of Lighthouse" in Park of Taras Shevchenko in memory of Odessa musician Igor Gankevich.

19:00 - The largest and most spectacular event of Odessa City Day will be Gala Concert on Potemkin Stairs with participation of Odessa artists as well as Nino Katamadze, Celentano Tribute, "Okean Elzy". Celebrating of Odessa Day will end with colorful fireworks.

19:00 - In Odessa City Garden will be Concert of Memory of Yuri Kuznetsov with participation of Odessa National Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor Igor Shavruk), Tamara Lukasheva and others.
