On 21.03 - 31.05.2017 in Lviv National Art Gallery named Boris Voznitsky open exhibition Treasures of Pidhirtsi Castle with 200 exhibits that originally decorated interiors of Pidhirtsi castle.

Exhibition Treasures of Pidhirtsi Castle exhibited Ukrainian part of the collection - paintings, sculpture, weapons and crafts.

The aim of the exhibition is to attract public attention to the need of Pidhirtsi Castle restoration so former collection could return to the castle again since 1939.

Pidhirtsi Castle is a landmark of architecture of Ukraine. Built in 1635-1640 years by order of Crown Hetman Stanislaw Koniecpolski by famous architect Andrea del Aqua and engineer Guillaume de Boplan the castle had a rich history that is being written even today.

Pidhirtsi Castle collection is considered the richest in Western Ukrainian lands. Much of it is preserved to this day and are owned by museums in Ukraine (Lviv National Art Gallery named Boris Voznitsky, Museum of Lviv History, Lviv Museum of History of Religion) and Poland (Tarnów District Museum, National Museum in Krakow, Historical Museum of Krakow, National Museum of Warsaw, private collections).
