On 30th of June 2017 in Odessa region in Orlivka open Lake Kartal Eco Park - ecological park of Asian water buffalos with eco trail and high viewing platform.

For tourists who want to watch the life of buffaloes in the wild there is Tourist Eco Trail on wooden stilts with a total length of 230 meters which runs through the lake. The ecological path ends with a high viewing platform which is very convenient for viewing the territory of the lake as well as photographing animals for nature lovers.

Lake Kartal Eco Park is a part of international project "Integrated use of floodplains resources as an example of a new efficient management in conditions of climate change". Its partner is True Nature Foundation.

In 2016 in Lake Kartal Eco Park were brought Asian water buffaloes from Transcarpathia. At the moment the population of the eco park is about 20 buffalos. In the future it is planned to increase number of buffaloes due to ten female buffalo which could give offspring.
