After 1st of October 2017 classic Tram 2M sightseeing tours will take place in Kiev after the tram restoration and operational tests by Kyivpastrans.

Employees of Kyivpastrans took off retro-tram from the pedestal where it stands for long time and bring it for restoration works that to be carried out by qualified specialists.

Lot of time was spent on making drawings of the tram as the tram of 20 - 30-ies of XX century should completely correspond to the original appearance. After detailed measurements of the body of Tram 2M and its component parts specialists carried out a defectoscopy of the body structure and as a result established the need to replace some elements.

Upon completion of restoration works the tram waiting for operational tests and after the positive conclusion of the experts Tram 2M will start to run in Kiev as a sightseeing tram.

Trams 2M were manufactured by Kiev Electric Transport Plant named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky in 20-30 years of XX century. Such trams had a wooden body, metal frame and non-turning tram trolley. The models were made for both Kiev and other cities.
