On 3rd of September 2016 in Odessa appeared new mini sculpture of Good Soldier Schweik - literary hero of famous novel The Good Soldier Svejk written by Jaroslav Hašek in 1923.

Initiative of Kamil Heinz, a representative of club of Jaroslav Hašek in Czech Republic, about installation of mini sculpture of Good Soldier Schweik was supported by special commission of Odessa City Council.

Author of the sculpture - Mikhail Kolodko which already made two similar Schweik sculptures. One of them is located in Czech town Lipnice nad Sázavou. It was there Jaroslav Hašek ended up writing the last volume of "The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik" Jaroslav Hasek. Svejk sits on the bell, call, communicating this way with every guest coming to the institution.

II Svejk set in Uzhgorod. In his hands he gave dumplings, because it is the most peaceful of soldiers in the world, has never applied his rifle for military purposes. There Svejk sat on the railing, prostrelyanny bullets during the Second World War on the river Oh.

In Odessa, the good soldier Svejk has got its own legend. They say that if you rub his nose, then luck will accompany the whole week.
