On 10th of November 2016 at 17:30 in Kiev will be open Anne de Kiev Monument in Lviv Square - monument to Anna Yaroslavna, the daughter of Kiev Prince Yaroslav the Wise who at a young age went from Kiev and later became Queen of France.

Authors of the sculpture Konstantin Skritutsky and Fyodor Balandin portrayed Anne de Kiev as a child with a book in her hands.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Ambassador of France Isabelle Dumont and ambassadors of Belgium, Switzerland, Mexico, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, Georgia, Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk and others.

Anne de Kiev is as a historical figure that unites Ukraine and France.

Anne of Kiev has left a deep mark in the history of Europe. It is called the mother of all French and even European monarchs. The wedding and coronation of Anne of Kiev held on 19th of May 1049 in Cathedral of Reims where were crowned French kings. During the ceremony Anne of Kiev swore on Gospel which is brought from Kiev. Since then on Reims Gospel which became coronation swear all French kings up to Louis XIV of France and Charles X of France.
