On 20th of December 2016 in Kiev was presented new Ukrainian aircraft Antonov An-132D - light multipurpose aircraft designed for short-haul and medium-haul flights.

For demonstration of new aircraft Antonov An-132D was attended President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prince of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Turki Bin Mohammed Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud who traditionally cut the ribbon before An-132D drive out of the shop of Antonov Aviation Plant.

The main features of new aircraft Antonov An-132 is its suitability for operation in various climates especially in hot climates, high-level and unprepared airfields, possibility of exploitation on sand runways.

Antonov Aviation Plant has demand for production of 260-290 aircrafts Antonov An-132 by 2035.

An-132D was created in a very short time. The decision to implement this project taken in May 2015 when the agreement was concluded with Taqnia Aeronautics of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Today in 1 year and a half aircraft Antonov An-132D is ready for testing and will make its first flight in spring 2017.

For An-132 creation was involved leading companiesin the world including Pratt & Whitney Canada which will supply engines and Honeywell which will provide "glass" cockpit and other on-board electronic systems, blades of Dowty Propellers, life-support system from company Liebherr, auxiliary power unit from company Hamilton Sundstrand, UkrNDIAT and German firm Broetje-Automation directly involved in the design and equipment supplies for plant in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Antonov An-132 is designed for short-haul and medium-haul transportation flights and provides different configurations of cargo cabin. The aircraft will have a cruising speed up to 500 km/h and a maximum cruise altitude to 9000 meters with a maximum payload up to 9.2 tons.

Later on base of aircraft An-132 will create a whole family of aircrafts of different purposes. Series production of Antonov An-132 is planned to establish in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
